Religiously speaking, it is imperative that we search the scriptures with the help of the Holy Ghost (evidence of speaking in other tongues; yep, still going on today!) and leaning on God for wisdom, understanding and discernment. I believe what I believe today through bible study's that were in my own home. They were with the help of Godly men and women, but I seen it for myself! I know in my heart the whole bible is full of truth and living! For those who do not know we are Apostolic. We attend United Pentecostal Church's and yes, I probably believe and live a little differently than most. I am not here to condone your lifestyle, religion or preference.
I grew up Pentecostal, but I couldn't tell you the fundamentals. I could not tell you what the church believed. I didn't know until much later in life that some believe in the Trinity. I honestly grew up thinking and knowing that there is just one God! I had know idea people believed they were three separate persons! If that is what you believe, I'm not condoning you. Everyone has a right to believe what they want and that is between you and God.
I do find it shocking though that all these different religions all have different views, beliefs and standards. There is so much deception and perversion! People only believe what they want to believe truly. If you don't like something you can go find a church that does fit your willingness to submit or stronger or lesser sacrifice. You can go to a church and never feel convicted and be shushed and cuddled about what you are doing is right, even if you know it is wrong. This is exactly what the devil wants! Matthew 7:13-14 says, "Enter ye in the strait gate: for wide is the gate and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruciton, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. This scripture in of itself, (and you can't go by just one scripture, you have to look at the bible as a whole) should be enough for everyone to examine what they believe.
I don't know about you, but I would rather make Heaven to learn I did too much, than learn that I didn't do enough and miss it! And, you can't live too much for God! People say that living modestly and holy is a work. This may be true, but I know it's what God wants ME to do. I know it's the right thing. I often think, "be happy I'm not wearing short skirts showing myself!" I feel like I get alot of backlash so to speak about how I choose to live for God and that will happen. Jesus was persecuted and hated and so will those who truly live for God. 2 Timothy 3:12 says, "Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution."
