My kiddos, which are now 8,8,7,7 and my baby is 1 years old now!!! AHHH!! Where does the time go!!? My kiddos will come to me crying sometimes because their little legs will hurt. I always comfort them, rub some lavender oil on them and massage them, pray for them and tell them that it's just apart of growing and means they are getting bigger. I comfort them the best I can and I go back to what I'm doing. Sometimes it's in the middle of the night and I will repeat the process and send them back to bed.
God does the same thing for us. He tells us He loves us, comforts us and sometimes he has to rebuke and chasten us! But we get all fixed up and go back on our way!
When we are growing spiritually and you surrender your heart to the Lord He begins to do a work in you! I can't really explain it, but I will try! He died for our sins. We are all born sinners. We have all sinned and have fallen short of the Glory of God and will until we meet Him. Sometimes on this journey though we will go through seasons. Sometimes you may feel on top of the mountain and all is great! You may hear His voice often, feel his presence easily and just feel connected! Then you have the dry seasons....where you don't even feel like He exists and neither do you! You may not feel him as easily, it may be hard to read and pray. You have a winter season...where things are just laying dormant and hibernating for awhile. You may be waiting for the SON to warm you up!! And it's in the spring time....when things in your heart, mind, spirit begin to grow...Lord may place something in you...or out of you...He has a way of purging us...cleansing us....because even though we have repented, been baptized in Jesus name and filled with the Holy Ghost, we are still a work in process!! There are still things that need weeded out...some roots that need to be ripped out...and it's crazy...we may not have even known it was there until the Lord reveals it to us and then we may not even want to let it go..and all that within your spirit hurts. You may feel lost, confused and disoriented, but if you will keep on keeping on!! If you will be quick to forgive and get back on the wagon! He is just, merciful, faithful and loving! Sometimes we operate out of the flesh or we have done something wrong...maybe a spirit has attached itself to you...maybe you are doing something wrong, about to compromise whatever the reason sometimes the Lord has to give us a whoopin!? Anyone know what I mean? He loves us just as we do our own children!? Well, actually, He loves us more than we love our own children and vs! Think about that for a moment! He loves our children more than we can!! WOW!! Anyways....we love our children and when they get out of line they need a good old whoopin' every once in a while! We discipline them because we love them! We want them to know better and not do it again. Rev 3:19 says, As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten!! And when that does happen we should see it coming from a loving God who is trying to help us have victory and overcome!!
I feel like the Lord is doing a whole lotta work on me! He isn't anywhere close to be done yet! I am thankful He is fixing me!! I can't fix myself!! The journey with Lord is certainly not boring or for the weak!!
All we can do is praise Him and thank Him for His will to be done!! We keep fighting the good fight! Don't give up! Don't compromise! Be on guard!
Hebrews 12 KJV
God Disciplines His Sons
4Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.
5And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
6For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
7If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?8But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. 9Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? 10For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. 11Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
12Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; 13And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.
And then you will be tried....that never feels good! We need stirred up; sometimes shaken up!
1 Peter 5:8-11
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
Benediction and Final Greetings
10But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. 11To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
After you have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen and settle you!!!
1 Peter 4:12
Suffering as Christians
12Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: 13But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
Isaiah 49: 10
Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.
We will suffer like Christ did, but we can still have joy and victory!! WE OVERCOME!
