The Devil wants you to be consumed and caught up in YOU! What do others think of YOU? How do YOU really feel? What do YOU think? What do YOU pray most about?
Wake up call here for me....ME! God spoke to me a couple of weeks ago, as I was praying and praying about myself. He just kinda lead me to think...ok, pray for something else now, so to speak. There is so much work that needs to be done on the inside of me that I am constantly praying for God to change me, use me, purge me, forgive me...on and on and on! We need to pray about ourselves. We have to have a right heart before we can pray for anyone or anything else! I want to make it! I don't want to be left behind! I don't want to go to hell! I want to see and meet Jesus face to face!
The Devil will keep your mind consumed on the present, so you can't get your eyes off yourself. This is being self-centered and selfish! I never really thought of myself like that until I heard my Pastor throw a similar statement out. I never thought of myself to be selfish, but I am. How can I be selfish!!? Pride? Do I have lust!? The lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and the pride of life..I am always wanting to relax or indulge in something. I'm always thinking about this or that would be nice. There is nothing wrong with that, but when we are constatntly seeking pleasure..we are intended to have "wonderful" "pleasing" life.
